Update Södertälje /2/

The moral/spirits are high and the discussions on the politics during the SAYFO and today in the near eastern countries do not end. The visitors did not leave before 1:00 A.M.

These are the visitors of the recently past days who showed their solidarity:

* Chorepiscopus (Khoury) Yusuf, Mor Gabriel Syriac Orthodox Church or Sodertalje, prayed for the Hunger Strikers, their goals and for the genocide victims. "It's a huge honour for me to do this for our Martyrs", says Father Yusuf. "You have my complete support!"

* Hujodo Assyrian Magazine,

* Assyrian Youth Federation

* Mr. Orhan de Basso on behalf of the Assyrian Association of Hofsjo

* Mr. Yakub Bilge, Editor of the "Heto" Magazine

* ACSU (Assyrian-Chaldean-Syriac Union), represented by Mr. O. Kaldoyo, Yasemin Onder, Olle Willeberg.

* Social Democratic Party of Sodertalje

* Mehdi Zana, formal major of Omid/Diyarbekir. This Kurdish intellectual is also the husband of the famous Leyla Zana who is still being imprisoned for her refusal to deny her Kurdish culture and identity for the Turkish Parliament. There was a big and interesting discussion with him on the developments between Assyrians-Suryoye and Kurds.

* Representatives of the PKK showed their solidarity.

* The Famous West-Assyrian poets Touma Nahroyo and George Shamoun are almost everyday with the Hunger Strikers and read their poems for the Hunger Strikers.
The poets are incredibly happy with the immense number of youngsters participating in this activity. This has inspired them for writing new poems. T. Nahroyo:
"These passionate youngsters can proudly call themselves Children of Mesopotamia". The reaction of the youth has been shown with happiness accompanied by cheers, applauds and patriotic slogans for the poets.

* Singers: Jack Lahdo Celebi, Addo Rhawi and Aboud Zazi are keeping the atmosphere great with their talents.

* NOTE: Singer Aboud Zazi offered to stay on guard in front of the tent till 4:00 A.M!

* Folklore dance groups of the Assyrian-Suryoye associations performed almost every day. Singing and dancing outside were a daily phenomenon.

* Every night TV programs where showed on the SAYFO, Activities, Homeland, etc…

* Every morning the Hunger Strikers attend the churches; this of course pleased the Syrian-Orthodox priests a lot. The priests blessed the Hunger Strikers in their speeches.
