This is the letter that was sent by David
Chibo to the Assyrian Organizations in Australia, to show their
support towards the Hunger Strike Demonstration. by David Chibo In the wake of the official recognition of the genocide of the Assyrian and Armenian Genocide by the Swedish government, it is believed that the time is right for applying pressure on the European governments to follow and officially recognize the Assyrian and Armenian genocide. As a part of the worldwide Assyrian movement to gain genocide recognition the Assyrians in Europe officially launched a series of hunger strikes that will last from now until the 24th of April, commemorating the Seyfo/Saypa massacres of 1915 committed by the Turkish government. As a part of the overall plan we in Australia and the U.S. have been asked by our European counterparts to assist in this effort by respectfully asking the Armenian government to finally recognize the genocide of the ASSYRIAN people. I have been contacted by U.S. groups who
confirm that they are attempting to officially meet with the
Armenian foreign minister in Glendale on the 24th of April to
hand him a letter requesting the Armenian government officially
recognize the genocide of the This is where we come in. We have been asked to provide our Hunger Strikers with moral support and our delegates with additional pressure from Australia by contacting the main Armenian groups in Australia and respectfully requesting that they recognize the Assyrian genocide, as well as a request for co-operation and co-ordination between both our people. The EU is on the verge of recognizing the Armenian genocide if they don't officially recognize the Assyrian genocide we'll be left out yet again.
